World Golf Hall of fame Returns to Pinehurst
Sanford Holshouser Economic Development Consulting partner Ernie Pearson recently completed a project which will reunify the World Golf Hall of Fame with its original location – Pinehurst, N.C. This will be moved from its current location in Florida. It will be located in one of the United States Golf Association’s new facilities being constructed in Pinehurst, which will be referred to be the USGA as Golf House Pinehurst. Ernie represented the USGA in recruiting the Hall of Fame to its Pinehurst facilities, and in support of this was able to obtain a $7 million appropriation from the N.C. General Assembly which will be paid to the USGA pursuant to a Site Infrastructure Development Agreement with the Department of Commerce. This is in addition to an $18 million appropriation that Ernie negotiated about two years ago to support the Golf House Pinehurst Project.
